Openness and agreeableness in governance – Personality trait research survey results
A&P Advisory in 2020 put out a survey to gauge the predisposition or preference of governance, risk management and assurance practitioners in relation to the level of professional and general scepticism they apply when engaging in activities such as audit. The 24-question survey was designed in collaboration with a qualified psychologist and based on the NEO Personality Inventory (NEO PI-I), which examines a person's Big Five personality traits (openness to experience, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness and neuroticism). Openness and Agreeableness in Governance article published in Governance Institute publication
A&P Advisory feature in the July edition of the Governance Institute of Australia publication Governance Directions. The article 'Openness and agreeableness in governance: Can the auditor also be a partner?' runs through openness and agreeableness traits for internal audit and GRC professionals, and business partnership, and explores whether being open and agreeable can impinge on the ability to act independently and objectively.
